Description
Introducing the Grand Power Q1S. Grand Power’s advanced technologies and ergonomic superiority for sport, civilian and professional pistols is well known – and the Q1S continues the tradition beautifully.
This model features an integral Picatinny rail for the easy addition of accessories, a CNC machined frame, an ambidextrous construction and a SA/DA trigger mechanism that meets and exceeds the strictest requirements imposed on universal guns with its ergonomics suitable for shooters of practical disciplines as well as for special units of military and police forces. The steel rear sights are drift-adjustable and the blade front sight is interchangeable.
The Q1S design and action have some serious benefits not found on many other higher priced guns. Instead of a tilt-barrel (a modified Browning design), it uses a rotating barrel that disengages a lug on the barrel from a channel in the slide while the bore axis remains in the same orientation to the slide and frame which positions the barrel slightly lower in the frame, putting it closer to the shooter’s hand. This in turn reduces the recoil’s leverage on the shooter’s wrist and makes it easier to control muzzle flip. As a result, the sights get back on target faster, shooting the gun is easier and accuracy is significantly increased compared to many other guns of similar size and caliber.
The slide is made of high quality CrNiMo steel, which guarantees a long durability for the firearm. The steel is heat processed to a hardness of 40 – 42 HRC and consequently carbonoxi-nitrided by technology QPQ to 750 HV. The barrel is made of CrV steel and treated by carbonitriding to the depth of 0.5 mm. Hardness of the core material of the barrel is between 45 and 48 HRC. Surface hardness of the carbonitrided layer is from 52 to 54 HRC.
