Description
Introducing the X-Calibur Match. Grand Power’s advanced technologies and ergonomic superiority for sport, civilian and professional pistols is well known – and the X-Calibur Match continues the tradition beautifully.
Fans of our popular X-Calibur will notice that with the X-Calibur Match, the dust cover is full length and integral with the pistols frame. Adding 300g to the total weight of the pistol reducing the already minimal muzzle rise of the standard model. Many of the features that make the pistol a suitable candidate for the shooting sports also lend it to self-defense.
Unlike the modified Browning tilt-barrel design, the action utilizes a rotating barrel lock, which keeps the muzzle on the same axis throughout the shot. A cutout on the barrel provides the rotating motion in conjunction with a roller bearing in the frame that disengages its two locking lugs through the energy of the recoil. Incorporating this innovative design lowers the bore axis, keeping it more in line with the shooter’s arm, thus reducing the felt recoil of the pistol and improving hand control by reducing the recoil’s leverage on the shooter’s wrist. It also increases the accuracy and aids in rapid target acquisition by eliminating the vertical play of the barrel.
This model features a heavily serrated slide with deep decorative cuts resulting in weight loss that makes the gun feel light and maneuverable, an integral Picatinny rail for the easy addition of accessories, a CNC machined chassis embedded into a rugged polymer frame, an ambidextrous construction and a SA/DA trigger mechanism that meets and exceeds the strictest requirements imposed on universal guns with its ergonomics suitable for shooters of practical disciplines as well as for special units of military forces. The steel rear sights are drift-adjustable and the blade front sight is interchangeable.
The slide is made of high quality CrNiMo steel, which guarantees a long durability for the firearm. The steel is heat processed to a hardness of 40 – 42 HRC and consequently carbonoxi-nitrided by technology QPQ to 750 HV. The slide rails are embedded in a polymer frame and manufactured from high quality CrMo steel reconditioned by QPQ technology to a surface hardness value of 700 HV. The barrel is made of CrV steel and treated by carbonitriding to the depth of 0.5 mm. Hardness of the core material of the barrel is between 45 and 48 HRC. Surface hardness of the carbonitrided layer is from 52 to 54 HRC. The frame is made of high-quality polyamide GF 30.
